Chess3A - Advanced **

This  program is for chess players who have already shown a strong proficiency for the game.  All of the elements of chess openings, middlegames, and endgames are discussed at a more in depth level than in previous sections.   This class is meant to meet the needs of active tournament players.  We have multiple state grade level champions participating.  There are two required tournaments in each section which the whole class will attend.

All equipment, including chess clocks, are provided.  The structure of the class includes lectures, multimedia presentations, and in class tournaments, practice, and lots of fun.  The spring session include the Advanced Class Championship tournament.

Students who were in the class in the previous section are automatically allowed to return for successive sections.  There is no previous class requirement but there is a skill level pre-requisite.

All new students need be assessed by Coach Alan Casden (acasden@insight.rr.com or 846-8180) prior to being allowed into this class. The coach will re-assign students, if necessary, base on the student's level.
